Christian singer and former American Idol contestant Mandisa has passed away at age 47 in her Nashville home.
Her passing was confirmed Friday morning, though the cause remains undisclosed.
In her 2022 memoir, Out of the Dark: My Journey Through the Shadows to Find God’s Joy, Mandisa candidly discussed her mental health struggles,
detailing her battles with depression and anxiety after losing a close friend to cancer. She described this period as her “deep dark” phase.
