Paul Rybkin and Karen Rodas faced a heartbreaking loss when their son, Nathaniel, passed away just 36 hours after birth due to Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD), a rare condition that can cause kidney failure.

Their daughter, Maddy, was also diagnosed with PKD in 2013, and her early years were marked by frequent hospitalizations.

Despite the challenges, including swelling, vomiting, and an 18-hour sleep schedule, Maddy showed resilience. After two years of struggling with the illness, her father offered her a lifeline, providing hope for her future. Though Maddy was severely undernourished, her health began to improve, marking a turning point in her battle with the disease.
