I nearly did a double take when I read that Trump removes Biden’s security clearance, a courtesy ex-presidents typically get so they can stay informed on major security issues.

Instead, Donald Trump says Joe Biden doesn’t deserve these briefings—he even cited Biden’s supposed memory problems as a reason.

And let’s not forget Biden once barred Trump from these same intel updates, so it’s feeling like a bit of payback, or maybe a complete shift in how we treat former presidents.

As usual, Trump announced his decision on Truth Social, telling Biden he’s basically “fired” from receiving daily intel. He likes to say Biden “can’t be trusted,” claiming the man set this precedent by pulling the plug on Trump’s own briefings in 2021.

That’s a serious slap in the face to tradition, but honestly, are we surprised? This is the same White House that’s been shaking up norms left and right. And of course, the phrase “Trump removes Biden’s security clearance” hit the news cycle like wildfire.

Not Stopping at One Person

Here’s the kicker: Biden isn’t the only one losing clearance. Trump also revoked privileges for several former intelligence officers and top-level staff, including General Mark Milley and Dr. Anthony Fauci. Some critics think it’s all part of a personal vendetta. Others argue it’s just standard practice once you’re out of the administration. Either way, it’s a reminder that nobody is safe in this political climate. Now that Trump removes Biden’s security clearance, we might see more of these showdowns in the future.
